There is always an answer for it. It could be physical such as her cycle is about to or is happening. She may suffer from PMS. It could also be psychological. Is she under a lot of stress right now with kids, or work? Try talking to her first to get into her heart and head. If that isn't it, then go with her to the doctor for a routine check up. Even if all you do is sit in the waiting room, she'll see how much she means to you and that could be in the end, the best medicine in the world.

What do you mean by "reason" for it? That's a bad stance to take and doesn't show that you are even trying to understand. You have already labeled it as "unreasonable".
Did you know that during ovulation a woman is much more hormonal than when menstruating? Just because you can't see "hormones" or understand them doesn't make them unreasonable.
Why do you need to "work" it out? Why not help her work through? Buy chocolate, flowers and be reasonable yourself. There should be no work involved if you really care.

Because women are on a monthly cycle that fluctuates our hormones constantly. Men are not on any cycle and feel pretty much the same day to day. Just realize you guys have it good and have a little sympathy for us and our rollercoaster moods.

women's hormones go nuts at all different times. it can be PMS, it can be because they are ovulating, it can even be something they ate or want to eat. it peaks at diffrerent times in different situations and it makes no sense sometimes. And if she is on birth control it can be better or worse. and smoking can really make the **** hit the fan. i am a generally mellow woman but i had problems with my hormones and i am just starting to work them out. it is nuts sometimes...

It could be hormones then again it could be that you haven't been spending any time fellowshipping with God. He is your peace. Go spend some time with Him alone.

HORMONES! They do crazy things with your emotions.
Also, switching your birth control, even to a different brand of pills, can give you mood swings.
