I understand about a healthy baby, by asking a questions about gender im not infering that I am not concerned about my babys health! But I would like to know so i can call it him /her and not 'it' lol

It is possible to determine gender at 14/15 weeks, but the sexual organs may not be fully formed until around week 18. So what they tell you could be wrong. For example, they could say it's a girl as they cant see any "boy bits", but it may just be the case that the scrotum hasn't descended from the pelvis yet. But most of the time they're pretty accurate and they don't like telling you the sex if they're not pretty certain. I hope you do get to find out though, it will make choosing a name a lot easier!!

My doctor thought i was having a hemorrhage so i just happened to have a ultrasound at 17 weeks otherwise my doctor said the best time to look is 18- 20 weeks. Remember just because they say it is one sex doesn't mean it cant be the other!!!!! so far we are having a boy but you hear alot of stories of the sex changing when the baby is delivered. Also a big thing that helps is drinking juice before the ultrasound because this will give some sugar to the baby and they will move around more. This is encase you have a shy baby and they want to keep their legs crossed.

i would not believe gender at virtually 15 weeks - finished bladder or not - its too common to mistake a swollen labia for the scrotum and vise versa Now at your anomaly test at around 20 weeks you're starting to be to be the flexibility to have a clearer theory of gender

I found out when I was 13 weeks and 5 days that I am having a boy.
The genetalia is developed by week 12.

they told me they won't do my 2nd ultrasound until after 18 weeks when they can tell. Trust me, it's scheduled the day I get to 18 weeks. :)

probably just a little to early to say, if they think it might be a girl, it could be a shy boy, trust me i have seen it happen!! they are never 100%

I wasn't all that interested in gender...I was more focused on health.
