First off, how good is it?

Secondly, it is Rated M for violence, language, etc. What type of language is in it? Do they say the 'F' word? I'd like to get it for my son but don't want him to be hearing that.

Thanks!

It's a great game. Lots of fun IMO.

There's a significant amount of violence. And by significant i mean over the top. You're ripping heads off of things, shoving weapons down throats of others...Blood everywhere. There's also a semi sexual mini game involved at one point. you don't see any action, but there is some nudity before and after that mini game. I don't remember hearing anyone saying the 'F' word, but the language isn't pretty by any means.

I wouldn't suggest it for anyone of the younger crowd.

I'd suggest something along the lines of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 or even Final Fantasy 12, if you want to stay somewhere near the gameplay style of God of War. Myabe even X-Men Legends one or two, they're high up on the action style of gaming.

Depending on how lienent you are on things, Devil May Cry series is less bloody, and the language isn't anywhere near as questionable, and there's no nudity. It's not by any means a game for a kid under 14 tho. It is still semi violent and there is blood involved.

first of all, that game kicks serious *ss. very fun to play. i think it doesn't say the "f" word at all. i know it will say "h*ll". anyways let me lecture you about all this violence in video games. if you notice, there is a rating on the game telling how violent it is, so there for , for all of those people who are fussing about violence in video games, can kiss my fat *ss. they are always complaining it teaches us kids to do violence. well i do recall the same pain in the *sses who constantly say "video games rot your brain". well if it rots our brain how in the h*ll can we pull of something like that if were that retarded? everystore you go to that sells video games that are rated"m", always require a driver's licence and someone 17+ to get it. but it really isn't about the age, it is the maturity of the player. you could be 22 years old and act like a 2-year old, but you could be a 6-year old and handle that stuff matuerly. so in other words, if your son can play a fun game without picking up bad habits from it, then it would be fine to get it. by the way, the next god of war game is claimed to be the last great game for the ps2.

I wouldn't get it for your son if he's under 17, it deserves its mature rating. It has a sexual sistuations, there is blood, lots of violence. I can't remember if they say that many swear words, but granted its a really great game, one of the best the playstation2 has to offer.
The second God of war, from what I know it has nudity/sex and contains blood and violence as well.

Dont treat your son like a baby. Video games do not cause serial killers or any of the stuff they say it does. I have been playing mature games like that since i have been 6 and it hasnt messed me up (much) jk. Also think about it if we were attacked by the gods your son would know what to do now

It's a pretty bloody game, but very good. Not too much violent language, just bloody and gore everywhere. Very good game with a sequal coming out in march.
