My friends think that I am crazy when I say that I can't read a book twice. While they can read the same book ten times just because they love it soo much. After the first time of reading a book for me all of the suprises have dissaperard and I find no reason to read the book a second time around.

Something when you read a book the first time you don't fully understand it, you may think you do but you don't. You may not have had the right life experience to understand what the author was trying to say. Then when you grow and mature the second time you read the same book you have the life experience to grasp more of what the author was trying to say and it doesn't seem like the same book.

Thank goodness there are more people like us!

I never understod how people could read the same book ten times over and memorize it. Sure, the book may have been excellent, but there's a little tweak in the back of my head saying- Okay, next book! Why go back to the one I've already read, you already know how it's going to end.

I think that's the major reason why I don't reread books. Some little OCD trait that won't let me because I already know how it will end.

Glad to hear I'm not alone anymore!

I have a hard time as well. I love to read, but there's a lot of other books I'd like to get into, so I need to move on. Sometimes I'll try to reread a book because it's been a while since I read it. When that happens, I usually surprise myself with how much comes back to me.

I agree - I have found that I can only read a book a second time round, about 10 years later when I have forgotten what happened.
