So back off and get your facts straight. how many times have I heard conservatives say something like: (both on here and in real life)

"Kill all the Muslims"

or "turn the middle east into a sheet of glass"

more times than I care to count...

is this not "genocide"? regardless of if you feel it's justified or not...

or saying "torture them"...

heck... the president and the troops aren't NEARLY as bad as the conservatives that support them...

I don't think the president and the troops are murderers... but I do think some conservatives are consumed with genocidal blood lust... and don't care about the facts or who they kill...

Liberals never lost my support.

Why?

Because:

1. No liberal ever lied about our justification for invading Iraq. Our justification to invade Iraq came from our Republican President.


2. It was not a liberal that was in power when we were attacked. People our Republican President calls peaceful.

3. Liberals do not call crypto-communists friends. Our Republican President that does and has.

4. Liberals have not and will not leave our border insecure. Our Republican President who does.

5. Its not liberals who state we cannot have fruit, food, restaurants,etc.. without illegals. Its our Republican President who does!

Wow! It's nice to know that our country is full of open-minded people.

I'm around a lot of liberals -- I live in DC -- and I have never heard one say that our president or our troops are murderers. I have heard them -- and many Republicans, too -- say that the American people were misled by the president. The last elections gave that as a clear message.

That said, I don't think that the liberal or the conservative politicians have clean reputations. Politics is what has a bad name, not the people who have political views.

Liberal/Democrats have blown about as far off course as "Conservative"/Republicans have. Liberals used to believe in being tough on crime within the framework of observing Constitutional rights. Now they seem to be in favor of springing practically any criminal with a sob story. You're right about something else. Liberals used to have an honorable perspective on the military and actually support victory (Heck, Truman was a liberal and he dropped the A-Bomb!). Now they seem to want to dismantle the military. Liberals used to champion equal rights; now they champion special rights.

I never was a liberal, but at least they once had perspectives that I could respect.

When they stopped being liberal in the ideals of being strong on national defense. They are not liberal in regards to peace and freedom in countries that have none. Or they would go to Iraq and protest the suicide bombings. The terrorist maiming and killing of Innocent children. Go to N.Korea and demonstrate for the people's freedom, for their country to direct it's resources to feeding their starving. and go to Iran & any other country where people are truly oppressed.
i'm quite radically liberal in many ways. a free libertarian if you will. middled of the road on the rest. however with the times we are living in, it is essential that we seal our borders and absolutly know who everyone is coming and going. we also must be proactive in regards to perceived threats such as saddam posed. there will be times when intelligence is wrong. though i still wonder if saddam had nothing to hide, why didn't he just come clean. he'd still be in his palace and sons could still be raping &torturing.
we could be conservative and do nothing and learn nothing. or we could liberaly make mistakes and learn something.
and if the liberals don't reconize that soon, they may lose their right to be a liberal. ask those who have no right to protest.
