My attitude towards Muslims didn't stem from 911. Its an ongoing show of segregation on their part while STILL not weeding out the APPARENT minority of radicals in their society. These people are backwards, and don't belong here in the west!

Not everyone in the world believes that Islam is bad. Americans focussed a lot on negative aspects of Islam after 911. But, many other cultures and countries believe that understanding is the key to peace. Hopefully, sometime, people will sit down and talk about the different religions and how we can live peacefully together. Sounds like you are a muslim and would like that, and I'm not a muslim, but would also like that. So, we all have something in common, that we are human (as you pointed out) and that we want to be able to co-exist in the world without blame and war. Unfortunately, the people who seem to talk the loudest are those that make the least amount of sense. Like those who write Muslim=War or death. That is just silly.

Islam is a great religion and if people would even bother looking into instead of being so quick to judge it then they would realise that as well. Obviously the media is going to feed u all of this they're getting money! The one thing ppl like the most is hearing bad things about other ppl. Islam is completely against what everyone says its all about! Sure there are bad muslims and u can find that in every ratial/ religiouse group but that doesn't mean ppl have the right to categorize us as terrorists.

At first I did swallow the western press version of Islam and was negative towards it.

Then I did some investigating and started reading the Qu'ran and guess what now I am a Muslim. Right here in the USA a Muslin convert...and I'm not alone.

i'm sorry, yet all religions were on the basis of wars for the time of historic previous. The crusades, the separation of India and Pakistan, the breakup of the U.S., the Iraq conflict (perhaps more suitable about oil, yet regardless of the truth that). besides, for the time of historic previous, faith has been the basis rationalization for conflict, and that is not any diverse contained with regards to the conflict on terror (or on Islam, relies upon the way you inspect it). besides, no longer easily everyone looks hostile to Islam, some human beings are lifelike and may see that American overseas coverage isn't suitable. with somewhat of luck those who have self belief that easily everyone has a suitable to their own beliefs and faith will develop right into a good looking good stress in global politics (regardless of the truth that it type of feels that day continues to be some distance off).

First of all i wanna say i am muslim and proud - very much - to be so. secondly i understand that you don`t ask a question but want to say that the media is over reacting, right?
ok media always over reacting, that`s how they earn their living. but baby there is no ( conspiracy against islam), we muslims do nothing to tell the othe r-whoever he is- who we really are. i don`t say that media is clean , it really focuses on negative sides meaning negative behaviour of some muslims. but please think with me: does world wars with the bloodiness and extreme violence mean that christianity is a religion of war and terrorism?
of coarse it does not. christianity as well as islam are respected religions that have nothing to do with what christians or muslims do. the war on terrorism is a political war not religious, i believe.
i want also to tell those who answered before me with unproper words about islam to rethink. every community has within the good and the bad. there are good ppl as well as bad ppl everywhere . there are american youth who carry guns at school !!! no one can say americans are terrorists. there are also successful arabs who care only for humanity`s welfare -and i won`t say successful muslims or terrorist christians, because we agree that religions have nothing to do with this. every one see the coin from his side. americans see arabs are terrorist because they are claimed to have blown the towers and arabs see, and i agree, americans are not less terrorist because of what they do now in both afgan and iraq.
american media focus on suicidal actions of arabs and arabic media focuses on corrupting actions of american. i believe both magnify the other`s bad face.
media is far from reality
i hope i helped clearing the idea, thanx

Is that a Question? I believe each religion has its weirdos that really don't believe what they say they are. There are some people that are Muslims that are crazy and a lot that are not. There are always a few nuts that try to discredit the rest that truly do believe what they practice. It is a shame that it is that way but it's like that with any religion.

while some things in america can't be prosecuted for, you can always be persecuted for them, take freedom of speech and the dixie chicks, they couldn't be prosicuted due to their opinion, but they were surely persecuted. we live by a double standard, like newt gingrich diddling a woman that wasn't his wife while prosecuting bill clinton for the same thing. we live by the double standard. we force our religion down other peoples throat but how dare they try the same thing on us. there is only one god, not six or ten. our god is better than your god, j/k, he can't be any better or worse, he's the same one. they don't have our god completely worked out yet they will tell you they do , but with 2 versions of creation in the first book, they haven't convinced me yet. just pray to the nameless big guy and you will be doing fine.
