I don't know the exact answer anymore, but I am certain the first reply is wrong. NHL refs are payed on a sliding scale, according to seniority. And teams have nothing to do with it, since referee's are paid by the league, and NEVER work for any individual team (although sometimes it seems it lol). That would be a major conflict of interest lolol.

When they had the big strike in hmmm think it was 2003, if I recall correctly the range was from $65k to $125. There are various incentives...ie they get paid more for the playoffs etc. And I know they added retirement packages and other benefits.

I'm sure there have been some increases since then, but I doubt they are huge. Money in hockey always goes to the players, since unlike most major sports, it lacks the revenue from a TV contract, and that's where the big bucks are. So my guess is that range is still fairly close, maybe just go up 5 or 10 k.
