I'm not sure of your age but let me tell you that I am now 38yrs old and I am getting age spots everywhere! I have them on my arms, legs, and face. I didn't tan THAT much back in the day but obviously it was enough to damage my skin. I would recommend using Jergans Natural Glow lotion or a sunless tanning cream. You can get really good ones now for cheap at WalMart and Target. You will be thankful you stayed out of the sun and the tanning beds years from now.

Sun beds have been shown to cause a cancer deeper under/into the skin layers & it isn't noticed until its too late. I'm a firm believer in the sun that comes from the sky! I haven't found a cream tan that really works, lasts, or is streak-free, plus the last 2 I tried made my skin smell funny. I have always been a sun-worshiper (hard not to be in Arizona) and at 55 I DON"T have leathery skin, or premature aging, or any of that crap. I was/am religious about keeping moisturized before, during , & after tanning. People say I look more like 45, than 55--you can't always believe what the "experts" say--DO avoid burning!

Personally right now I am going tanning 2-3 times a week to get a nice glow, not too much though. I have a package for a year, but honestly won't use it in the summer, because that is what the sun is for. If you really don't want to use tanning beds, there are quite a few tanning lotions out there that do not turn you orange. Jergens is the best one that I have used.

going to the beach is better.but in the morning until 12, and after 4 pm. that is healthier
tanning creams are not so good because they wear of in a spotty way and you will look like michael jackson without his make-up...or like a dalmation
do not go to a tanning saloon because it is very unhealthy whatever they tell you.
it can't be healthy to get a tan in 10 minutes what you get in 2 days at the beach.
if you can't get to the beach in a garden/park will be fine
anyway I don't know how the weather is where you are but where I am it is still cold and it's not tanning season yet
good luck &have a nice tan

i recognize you suggested you do not choose a delicate tan cream - yet wager what i bypass to characterize! honestly its rather good. The Johnsons and Dove one sboth can bypass streaky and bypass a humorous shade in case you maintain reapllying them. yet i've got got here across the best one - It;s Boots' very own holiday selection (decide for the darker of the two available). this is a delicate cream that would not streak in any respect. One application at evening will leave you sparkling interior the morning (and maximum critically will look organic!) wish it helps!
