If I'm honest, I strive to be better on a daily basis! But what is better? It's only really my perception! I strive to be slimmer, more organised with money, tidier around the house, more confident, more tolerant of others, more energised, more cultured- the list goes on! But one thing I am realising is that I don't have to be perfect and that many of the pressures we are under are actually self inflicted! I suppose what I'm striving for more than anything is complete self acceptance and to be completely happy with my lot!!

well I think u can do this by either one of two ways...Firstly there is 'Society expectancy' the second is 'Reality'!
What I mean by Society expectancy is: ooo look at her...wife & mother of 2...out on the town with her mates...acting all single & tarty. - She should be at home with her kids...ironing hubbys' shirts for Monday!
The reality is: a birthday night out with a few friends...just lost some weight & so bought a new dress/skirt, fed-up with frumpy old clothes so want to feel sexy/desired. Kids are fine & usually topic of conversation...but hell, have a drink & a boogie then stagger home after a night of laughing til u cried.
If u stop believing in yourself & care immensely about what others think of u or your actions then u will never live your life completely.
Wisdom comes from experience...and mostly bad ones. After all, when something is easy what do we learn? - Nothing! (apart from the obvious)
My advice is never give up on yourself AND only strive to be better if it is to please you...not someone else. Everyone has their own life to lead & their own mistakes to make...its all part of lifes journey.

I'll never give up. I'll never stop striving to be a better person because if I do, then I may as well give up my life.

On occasion I give up, then I get back with it and continue striving to do better.
Those who attempt get further than those who do not.

Oh, no. I'm sure there's always room for improvement. Particularly as I have learnt that, happy though I am, I may not have the same effect on other people!
Compassion, understanding, attentiveness, selfishness. These are all things which can be worked on, hopefully to the benefit of others.
And as for giving up, I can do that when I'm dead. (lol)

I am still resisting the temptation to give up. Strive might be over-egging it though.
