I'm not looking for snarky "Bill Clinton" or "George Bush" answers. If you want to back a political agenda, do so on a true villain in American history, not some recent president/candidate.

I want to know who you believe is the one (two or three if you want) most vile villain in American history, someone who truly harmed this nation and mankind for the worse with their actions.

Timothy McVeigh, he showed that the greatest danger can come from within. A gulf war veteran who became disillusioned with his country was the mastermind behind the deadliest act of terrorism in U.S history until the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York. Many conspiracies have developed but whatever his beliefs or motivation he showed that that you don't need a towel on your head to hate America.

There are several that immediately come to mind but off the top, I'd say there are three: Timothy McVeigh & Terry Nichols (mass killers during the Oklahoma Federal Building bombing) and Dennis Rader (BTK serial killer of untold civilians that far exceed beyond the number of victims he was arrested, tried and convicted for).
