It's like the sports equivalent of the History Channel.
It's fun to see old college football games where almost everybody they mention is now in the NFL.
It's fun to see how the uniforms and the equipment have changed along with the broadcast style.
It's fun to see people pitch no-hitters or teams that are bad now back when they were good.
And most importantly, it gives young people a chacne to catch up on all the classic games that happened either before they were born or after their bedtime.

Because sometimes people want to relive great games and great moments in sports history. Like Kobe's 81 points, Carter's World Series winning home run in 1993, etc.

Well, when you are old enough, you'll understand the importance of nostalgia. Watching an old sporting event, like hearing an old piece of music will bring back memories of your youth and some memorable event in your life.

I watch it when they have stories of great sports events like the 1981 NFC Championship game or Ali/Frazier.

you know watchin something like the movie "hoosiers" is scripted. watching a replay of something that really happened without a script such as MJ's win over the Cavs i Game 5 is really a thing of the moment.
