Bettas will over eat if you let them. They don;t do very well at stopping when they are full. You should feed him all he can eat in 3-4 minutes twice a day and no more.

Underfeeding a fish is far better than overfeeding. Fish can go for several days without eating and be just fine. Fish do not know how to stop eating and will just keep eating until it bloats them and makes them sick. It is up to you to make sure you control their eating habits. You only need to feed bettas, at the most, twice a day and should only feed what they can eat in no more than five minutes and remove any uneaten food so that it doesn't rot and foul the water.

Fish don't know when they are full. Feed him once a day. Let him eat what he can in 3 minutes then remove the rest with a net .You will get to know how much to fed him after a while. Make sure to feed him only once a day.

I only feed my bettas 3-5 Pellets 2x a day. Suplpementing with blood worms and brine shrimp now and then. I watch them eat and quickly remove anything they don't eat or that sank to the bottom of the tank. Overfeeding your fish can be fatal to the fish.

no he will not stop eating. Under feeding a fish is way better than over feeding. Over feeding is the top reason why fish die. They always look hungry but stop feeding them

Fish and many other animals lack the mechanism to tell them they are "full". It can be argued that many humans lack this as well.

No, he will keep eating until you stop feeding him. You have to be careful not to overfeed him.
