I literally JUST put down Choke. It was an interesting read, but I must say it is not for everyone. The novel is very graphic, it was so graphic that I was embarrassed to read it in school. Still, the book is fresh and humorous, even if it isn't the cleanest book ever...So, run out and get that book right now!

Anything by Palahniuk is good. The book you describe kind of rings a bell. Try looking at a list of Mark Twain's works. What is man? and other works of Mark Twain sounds like what you want but it has been a lot of years since I read that. Hope I was some help.

Well, personally I think Palahniuk is brutally overrated. Fight Club was a good book and film, and that's the key to his popularity. However, his books share the same themes far too much. All of them are centered around somewhat fantastical lifestyles that average people get into.

Those books are interesting reads, but I think there is a lot better out there.
