I have to do this test where they'll pump contrast in my uterus, and I'm so afraid. People say that if I take acetaminophen before, or if they don't pump a very larger quantity of contrast it will be better. Do you think if I ask my Doctor for some valium it would make a diference? I'm so scared and nervous!!!

Call your doctor's office and ask for a pre-med. Many physicians will order Valium and an NSAID drug--like ibuprofen or aleve to take about 40 minutes before.... It makes the test much more comfortable...Don't worry...!!! You'll do fine....

An HSG can be painful - and when the dye is injected into the uterine cavity, most women will experience a considerable amount of pain. You should be prepared for this - and taking a pain-killer prior to the procedure will help to reduce the pain.

Ask your doctor for that pain-killer.... that would help... I'm not sure about the vlium... but you lost nothing for asking... it's your body and its your right to ask questions or inquiry...
Goodluck!!!!
