Yes!
It seems like organizations are getting in the habit of using fear to manipulate people. It is just plain ridiculous.
Do not get me wrong, though. I am all about recycling, conservation and other things like that. But it is not because of fear of the consequences of waste.
News flash for you: Efficiency is cost-effective! Higher gas mileage cars mean they use less gas, and theoretically are cheaper to run. Hello? Is that common sense knocking? CFL Light bulbs? Hey, I can use a cheaper electric bill just like everyone else.
Generally speaking, the more pollution that is being generated by a process means that the process is not using whatever resource it is using as efficiently as one that produces less pollution.
Sustainability makes sense because of the nature of sustainability, not because we should be afraid of the some theoretical consequences.
So I guess you can say that I am annoyed by the movement, not the sustainability.

I'm annoyed by the movement greatly. It all seems to political.
As for "sustainability". I'm all for it. I'm just worried about the future of the children. I am cleaning up my act and reducing my consumption because I know the children now will have a future worse than mine. My parents had greener planet when they were young. So I'm going to help the future generation have a future. I don't want them to have to live with our trash and destroyed habitats. If that means I have to recycle, reduce, or reuse anything, the future generation is a worthy cause.

People have been making decisions that lead the earth on a nonsustainable course in many ways. It is time to change that.
I don't think of Al Gore as an inspiration for this, if that is what you mean.

I can't see one good reason to be "annoyed" by it, but I'm interested in hearing your perspective. Can you be a little more specific?

Am I annoyed by the idea that we shouldn't destroy the Earth so that future generations don't die horrible deaths?
Why, no, not at all.
Just because you will never have children, since no one would ever want to have sex with you, doesn't mean that other people don't care about the future.
