The earth has a population of 6.5 billion people, each of whom has made his own half acre fit his own ideal.

Not satisfied with his own half-acre, and not willing or able to buy more acreage, a person wants to dictate to the rest of us what to do with our half-acres.

So he claims that the property itself has rights, and/or that it's all "ours" and that somehow using it for what he wants to do instead of letting everyone use their own property the way they want is "saving the earth."

The earth will still be here long after we're gone.

In the meantime, how one person uses his little parcel of it is nobody else's business.

What you Libs call "caring about 'our' environment" is just a naked power grab, an attempt to run an end-around on property rights.

Liberals want everyone to be "equal".
So, they want the government to own everything.
They are soooo jealous of us people that work hard and accumulate property.

you can't be serious?

WOW...

I'd love to answer the question, but it's so far out there I am not sure I follow you - are you saying that because the Democratic Party's position on the eniroment (making sure there is an enviroment for our children and their children) in some strange way affects private property rights?

how on earth did you come to that conclusion?

that's the craziest thing I have ever heard.

Caring about our environment is caring about our environment. Global Warming might not be true who knows, but we are filling up landfills, polluting the air we breath, and polluting the water we drink. We are cutting down are forests and building Wal Marts and parking lots. Do you think that is a good thing......................... Ferret I completely believe in Global Warming but there is a chance that this is just a natural process of the earth and not caused by man. I believe it probably is cause by man but try telling that to the asker of this question.

Yeah, lets all do as we please and **** up the environment. Then your statement, "The earth will still be here long after we're gone." will be all too true.

David_W 'above' said, "Global Warming might not be true who knows." It would seems that everyone knows its true 'except' for America, who, like the proverbial 'ostrich', has its head in the sand (If I can't see it happening, it might go away)

Ever heard of "Social Responsibility"?

You do realize that it was a Conservative Supreme Court that declared property rights had no standing when measured against the economic good of the community?
