Let me tell you my reason:
I live in a small redneck town, that my family moved to and I have absolutely no real social life here. 5 bars , one a honkey tonk cowboy bar, 2 are hippie wanna be clubs, the 3 left are just small town college scene bars with "frat" boys and girls . I have nowhere to have a real social life, besides the fact that even anywhere else the people are very dimwitted and just ignorant and nothing in their heads much. I dont mean to act like am above them , but I think intelligence wise I am.
I like Yahoo Answers because it gives me a social life of sorts with many quite intellectual interesting people. I really hate where i live.!

Well, if you feel that strongly about where you live, then I hope you can move someday. Yes, there are some very interesting people on Yahoo, and I like it because I'm older (46) and a bit wise in life experiences, so I try to help wherever I can. Plus, in turn, people help me. I have learned some very interesting things here on Yahoo Answers and have received some very valuable advice.

My husband works nights and this is a bit like a social club for me. I can actually talk to grown ups after the kids are in bed.It is like being back at work talking to all your mates in the pub but only answering the ones you want to or know the answers to.I love it.

i admire yahoo solutions as that's informative some style of subjects. It not basically enables you with homework ( i like it once you get concepts or web content that might actually assist you discover anwers). it might help with in basic terms approximately something as there is optimistic to be somebody obtainable with an answer.

being more intelligent is not a reason to refuse socialising with people less intelligent. if you really are that bored try these bars out and give the people in them a fair try...you may be pleasantly surprised and come out with a few new friends with whom you have something in common with other than intelligence.

I get lonely sometimes too and come here. I like to hear all the different answers and opinions people have. I also think there are alot of really smart, witty and silly people. I love diversity and you don't even have to brush your hair or shave your legs to socialize here. =)
