I also can't seem to shake off having a cough and cold, and suffer from heartburn a lot.

I've tried a regular sleep pattern, and spending a whole day in bed but neither have refreshed me.

Your help please.....

I'm 5'10" and about 13 stones 10 lbs in weight. I've started doing something about the bit of excess weight I'm carrying by playing football twice a week.

I don't smoke and I drink alcohol once a week.

The tiredness could be caused by an iron deficiency - you sound a bit "run down" and probably could do with general tonic or course of vitamins. This would boost your immune system and help with the colds, etc. The heartburn is usually caused by too much acid, usually due to too many fatty foods but do you have a hiatus hernia? Suggest you see your GP for a thorough medical check up.

Just your question alone, without any other information, is like finding the needle in a haystack. Chronic fatigue is a symptom of many different problems. Anything from anemia(as mentioned by someone else before me), vitamin deficiency, sleep disorder. Chronic reflux could be adding to a sleep disorder problem. The best thing to do is go see your family doc and tell him/her everything that is going on. Best of luck..

it sounds like the same thing my husband was suffering from he went to his doctor who diagnosed him with a mild form of asthma which he now is being treated for and now he is feeling alot better his symptoms of heart burn and feeling tired all the time and all these symptoms seem to start when he had a chest infection and pleurisy which is an inflammation of the lining of the lung, it took the doctor over 4 weeks and my husband to have an ECG and a chest x ray to work it out what was wrong, but i can guarantee it will get better with time and the right treatment

Hi,
it could be many things..
exhaustion...are you working to hard?
lack of food intake?
symptom of diabetes?
electrolights being embalanced?
your immune system could be run down due to your cold/cough
anemia?

If this has been going on for a while, best to just pop into your doctor to be on the safe side. Best of luck x

Sounds like a couple of things. 1) Anemia (tiredness) and 2) G.E.R.D (gastric esophageal reflux disease) Or it may be something more serious. Are you having any other symptoms?

You really should see a doctor. You may need a blood test to find out the reason why. Hope you find out soon.

Perhaps you are genuinely exhausted. It could be mental tiredness through stress. When you are feeling low all sorts of small illnesses take hold.

I think you might have M.E. Otherwise known as the yuppie flu. Get your doc to check you out. A friend of mine is just getting over it his symptoms were the very same as yours.
