Have you ever gone barefoot in a public washroom? Why?

Yes, because I haven't worn anything on my feet for ten years. I don't carry footwear just to go into restrooms, then I'd have to handle the footwear and carry it around in a bag, much more chance to catch something that way! Our skin is made to keep pathogens out and I trust it to do its job. We're at far more risk picking something up through the surfaces we touch with our hands, in the restroom or elsewhere, because with our hands we touch our faces, our food... that's how these pathogens can enter our bodies. There was one parasite, the hookworm, that can enter through the intact skin but it's been all but eradicated from the southern US since modern plumbing, and in cooler climates it never was a problem. Keep your feet on the floor, and as long as you don't have any cuts you don't have anything to worry about.
