Well if we're going to protect the Smurfs we definately need to protect their marine cousins, the Snorks. David the gnome might be in need of some protection too. His rabbit Swift must be getting pretty old by now.

Several species of vernal tadpole shrimp, and several species of fairy shrimp are endangered species. The problem is that their habitat is in temporary, vernal, ponds, and so, during most of the year, where they live doesn't look like much. People come and "develop" these areas without knowing that they've destroyed a periodic wetland, critical habitat for these aquatic creatures.

Smufs are definately pondlife. They should not be protected, but hunted down and killed on sight.

E-biodiversity is vital to preserve the sanity of people of who don't take themselves too seriously. While those particular manifestations amy be under threat, their seed must be good and the power of mutation is infinite.
