I've been to Houston before, it's a great place. I might have to work there someday if I get a job for NASA. Eileen Collins, my hero, lives there.

Yes???? I live in the metro area of Houston. Love it. The economy is booming here, and the cost of living is one of the lowest. We do not pay state tax, tax on grociers, tax on over the counter drugs or prescriptions. Our car tags are lower than most states, mine is only $52.50 for a 2001 car. We have all the arts here that you could want, and the city puts on great parades and great free concerts. I moved here in 1997 and never plan to leave.

Come visit. There are a lot of stereotypes out there. Let me clear a few up. We don't all wear cowboy boots, cowboy hats, drive trucks, ride horses, and talk like we are dumb. I am sorry but a lot of shows portray us like that. Houston is great, lots of different cultures, music, art, festivities, outings, museums, beaches, water parks, and last but not least history.

Just kidding, actually to correct a previous post, Houston is 2.2 million and 4.5 million in the area, not counting all the illegal aliens.
