I found 40 that were $5 or less. You can also take a look at the beaded necklaces, etc., and pick up supplies at your local craft store, too...

A great Christian craft is Footprints in the Sand.
Cut out a footprint for everyong participating in the craft.
Glue Sand to the footprint to make it look like a beach. But small shells all over it to give it a beach Hawaii theme. Then glue a printout of this story:
Footprints in the Sand
One night a man had a dream he was walking alont the beach with the Lord. Accross the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged to him and the other to the Lord. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the foot printsin the sand. he noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered himand he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there was only one set of footprints., I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious child. I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of foorprints in the sand It was then that I carried you".
I love this craft it is so much fun!

As well as the good suggestions here, Jo-Ann fabrics and my local independent craft store both carry a line of inexpensive craft kits designed for childrens' church groups. The have suncatchers, design-a-mug, craft sticks, foam projects, lots of variety, for less than a dollar per child.

Lots of ideas on this site
I use to make Xmas ball
large Styrofoam ball
lots of small cut pieces of left over
Christmas material.
take a nail file and push the material ends into the ball. cover the entire ball.
Cut a piece of ribbon fold in half tack in the top of you ball with a push pin.
It will have a look like a stuffed quilted ball.
They are really cute.

my children go to a Catholic school so crafts are usually Christian. We like to craft with foam, and they make really nice foam crosses that you can use stickers, or glitter glue to decorate them. We also like to take old rusted nails that dad blunts the end with hammers and bend them and use them for nails from Jesus to hang on the Christmas tree.

under are 2 links to Jesus Fish craft initiatives for toddlers, with super distinctive training with photographs. One is a Christmas ornament (or to hold close on your vehicle or someplace else) and one is to a Jesus Fish Beaded risk-free practices pin.
