They are missing the ability to look beyond the flesh and see the child underneath all that chiffon and mascara. They are missing the ability to hear the weeping of a tired little girl who just wants to jump rope with her friends, or play with her dump truck in the sandbox, or bake cookies with her mommy. They are missing the ability to realize that beauty is an illusion and we would all appear very differently if we reflected, externally, what is truly in our hearts.

:( I hate ALL attractiveness pagent exhibits, I advise come on the factor isn't possibly a competent influnce. My mom used to visual exhibit unit 'infants and Tiaras' and it made me ill watching it. i would be unable to have self assurance mothers and fathers might do this it would probably be a criminal offense. yet of direction that is not they suspect it particularly is a competent judgement call for the destiny. T-T Plus they get money for it so....

Nothing, really. That's just a hobby or sport for some people. Most beauty contestants have gone through the ranks as a child to compete in the Miss USA, Miss America, etc. competitions. It does look sort of strange for those that are not involved in such (I'm not a fan of it, either). However, who are we to judge? But, I think that if your child is not interested in beauty pageants, she should not be forced to participate.

Good common sense. What gripes my @ss also is when some of the moms say their daughters just wanted to get into it. Like the mother had no influence whatsoever over their daughter's inclination. Yea, right!!

The attention and popularity they DIDN'T get as kids themselves. They are trying to push a life on their little ones that they never had. Pretty pathetic, but true.

They're blinded by the pride they feel for their daughters. In our society beauty is very a important thing, especially in girls, so naturally they feel very happy that their offspring are seen as 'beautiful'.

they are missing out on their child's childhood. the way they should look, act, play. the children in these pageants look like chalk people with all the make up, hair spray,,
