A statement from Kevin is correct, there was competition during the Attitude era. And now, with the LACK of competition, we see a decline in the product. The outcomes of the storylines seem to be too predictable (I told my friends a month and a half in advance that Undertaker would win the RR). Unfortunately, buying WCW was the WORST thing Vince could have done, because it eliminated the only competition he had. Personally, I would like to se TNA succeed so that Vince actually has a challenge, instead of throwing whatever crap he wants out there.

Unfortunately, everything else he said didn't really do much to help his cause. Cena is NOT a trend setter. The reason that 95% of the questions apply to the current era is because 95% of the posters never saw a Bret Hart match, or a REAL Ric Flair match. They don't know who the Four Horsemen or Money, Inc. were.

Now we'll move on to Bugsy's answer. It is, in part, the wrestlers' fault. I can't even watch a Batista match, because the match moves so slow. He doesn't sell his opponents' moves, he just sits there and acts like it didn't hurt him. Every wrestler he fights has to carry him throughout the entire match. It's crap wrestling like that that makes you not want to buy a PPV. And the only reason that WM23 is the "highest grossing" PPV is because they jack up the ticket prices so high. I haven't seen any numbers, but I'm willing to bet that front row seats for it were roughly $400/seat. Way back when, you could probably get four front row seats for that price. Wikipedia only tells you part of the story. I tell you the rest.

any hope for wwe ??? dude what r u talking about they are the biggest name in the business
do u even know wwe has aquired more fans then ever before n do u know that 95 % of our question here in wrestling section is related to wwe
and regarding attitude era, back then wwe had competition and attitude era was all about competition and at this time wwe has no competition so if ther.e is no competition then how the heck u expect to see attitude era again speaking of wrestlers wannabe i seriously doubt about that, u have taker, finlay, hbk, hhh, edge orton, cena and many more who are trend setters for most of the wrestling fans. Wrestlemania 23 was a sold out in 1 month after it was announced
u could have said wwe needs competitoin to see better product

It will get back on its feet, eventually. The only things is Vince will have to deflate his ego and surround himself with people who are not self serving, but rather passionate about the product. He needs people that want to see the WWE become a success and are not afraid to tell him to that his ideas and the creative direction of the company are bad.

Vince has brought back the company before when it was in worse shape than this. Usually it takes about 10 years for him and the rest of his people to wise up and find a new niche like they did in 1985-87 and 1998-2000.

As for the attitude era coming back, I don't think it will happen. Vince has closed the door on it and does not want to rehash it. Somewhere in that company is a young person with a creative presence to help turn things around, Vince just has to keep his eyes open and find him/her (not Stephanie McMahon or any other McMahon).

i dont think u should fire the likes of lashely and hbk. its the people behind the scenes that is misusing the wrestlers. wwe first mistake was not give christian a chance and now he is doing the business in TNA. ur right the attitude dayz are gone but more creative people(the writers/script people) needs to be in wwe so the wrestlers can fully benefit from their abilityz and also the fanz can benefit from seening great matches.
look at the TLC matches between the hardyz and dudleyz and edge and chrisian. it was like they said(the writers) go out their and steal the show. nowadayz its like the writers arent putting a nuff effort in putting show stealing matches.

ITS NOT THE WRESTLERS FAULT!!

to be fair they arent suffering as the areas are always sold out .WrestleMania 23 is the highest-grossing pay-per-view in WWE history as well as the highest-grossing event in professional wrestling history, shattering the previous record held at WrestleMania X8. [2] [3]

I think your all mostly Right the lack of comp, from a out lying brand has made the wee fall ,its story lines aren't continuous have no real bit to them I myself find it boring .And that's coming from a wee fan from way back .Now as for Tan EVER coming to be the powerhouse of wrestling it ll never happen they ha vent got a clue what their doing over there either come on christian as champ ? Daddy's boy Jeff Jared gets to hold belt when ever he wants that ll never change they dint know how to use sting ,angle ,abyss ,or rhino . Those are the facts. Yes writing sucks but that goes all the way up to Vince and daddy Jared for Not being innovated enough to change with the times and bowing to the criticism of the breeding hearts that forced the removal of hassan Agood story line for the times

Simple: Get rid of people like Cena, Batista, and Lashley. Put people fans WANT to see in the main events for a change. WWE has quite a few they could elevate:

Mr. Kennedy
Carlito
Nitro
C.M. Punk
Edge
Orton
MVP
Marcus Cor Von
Burke
Hardy's

Quit pushing these no talent roid monkeys on us and things would be better.

i agree
i have stopped watching Smackdown and apart from Undertaker and Batista i don't really like any one else i miss the days of the Rock and the likes the story lines are silly maybe they should bring Shane and Stephanie back into the mix, it couldn't hurt

They need to start pushing wrestlers who deserve a huge push: Nitro and Orton. They have great potential.....they will do great things for WWE.
