if there is verbal emotional abuse in a relationship and why break someone down like that says things will change but nine years how much will he change or will he will a man actually change for the women he loves or will family get in the way and what is the next step getting over a broken heart

He won't change without therapy even if he wants to. He will have to deal with the insecurities in his past. There is something causing him to treat women in this manner. Once he realizes the problem lies within himself and his past then he has a chance to change if he is sincere in doing so.

Look at his upbringing ..does he respect his mother?
From personal experience I've learned that NO he won't change (for more than a week).But he will get very good at convincing you he will.Be careful! Verbal or emotional abuse is as bad or worse than being hit.Physically ,you heal ..emotional scars run deep.If you seem to be battling over family alot you should know that most of the time (right or wrong) you will lose the fight.Stand back and ask yourself if your still the same person you were before this relationship ...if your answer is NO then maybe its time to look into your own happiness.Good Luck ! verbal abuse to often leads to physical abuse if he has been verbally abusing you this long he will continue,he has feelings of insecurity or just needs to bully to make himself a false ego trip i am not going to tell you that you will get over it quick you wont time does buffer the hurt and there is one out there that is worthy of you.............good luck God Bless
