The truth of the matter is that this war WOULD be over sooner if those that CLAIM to "support" the war would shut up and enlist in the Armed Services, rather than tell others to go and fight in a war they do not believe in... how much can someone actually "believe" in this contrived war to allow political cronies to profiteer when they're just mouthing off and not joining the Armed Services themselves?
Why should anyone who KNOWS that the war was contrived so the super rich and powerful would have other avenues of amassing a few more fortunes go and risk their lives...?
Why is it that those that are constantly berating others to "be" patriotic and encouraging them to enlist and volunteer to go to Afghanistan or Iraq are not in uniform themselves? After all, they CLAIM to support the war and SWEAR to be so "patriotic" and believe everything that Dubya, Cheney and Halliburten say... so...? Let those that "support" the war go and risk their butts over there... we won't stand in their way, we won't oppose their "patriotic" gestures and we won't miss them much, either.
The Vet hospitals across the nation wouldn't be in such shambles if the wounded were relatives of the elected officials that promote this fiasco they call a "war." The medical care would also be far better and the conditions in the hospitals FAR better, too, if those being served were relatives of the elected offiicials or actual OFFICERS of the Armed Services, not just grunts from poor family backgrounds (by the way, again I ask: how many funerals have Dubya and Cheney attended of the 3,300+ Americans killed in action???)
Why aren't Dubya's twin tarts in uniform, or any of Cheney's relatives? In fact, of all those elected officials with grown children who are eligible for enlistment... HOW many are there in uniform, serving in either Afghanistan or Iraq?

Given that the solution to the problem starts where is 'started' it is a political solution, so going over there to join in a fight that is erupting onto a civil war might not accomplish what you seem to think it would.
Asides from that, place more troops over there and George will use them to invade Iran next.
If you want withdrawal sooner try getting rid of what started it all in the first place, and then, maaaaaaybe, you can re-establish some of the trust that the rest of the World has lost towards America

My aunt who was in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan in the 1970s signed up with the US government as soon as the war started.
She went to work for the State Department re-building roads in Afghanistan because she speaks Farsi. She's been there for years now.
Why don't you go over?

WHY would anti-war people go fight in iraq when there are so many chickenhawks that claim they are pro-war but not over there fighting?
Send all the pro-war people to go fight for what they say they believe in.

Interesting.... so, for example, the deal would be that if (say) 200,000 more people enlisted and were sent to Iraq, all troops would be back home in (say) 10 months.
The problem would be making sure that Bush would honor that contract, since the regime has already set aside thousands of term-limit contracts and required troops to stay in service longer than they originally agreed to.
But if the deal was binding, and enforceable, I think you'd get enough volunteers to make it work.

I'm not anti-war, but I am anti-this-war. If American citizens needed me to come help them in Iraq, I'd go in a heartbeat. I love my country, and I hold dear the men and women who are busting their backs over there to try and get some semblance of order going. The fact that I believe it's not our business, doesn't mean I wouldn't go help my fellow Americans!!!

I'm 30 and no longer in fighting shape, so the answer is no. If I were younger and in perfect health, the answer's still no but here's why:
I don't trust them. Neither our leadership nor the Iraqis' inspires much confidence. Now if God came down and told me, "hey, if you were to re-enlist the war WOULD be over soon", well...that's different. Otherwise, there are no guarantees.

ROFLMAO! Hell, no!
The only thing I've noticed liberals fight for is to suppress the free speech of people they disagree with - just look how *invited* conservative speakers are treated on universities all over the country.

No. I am an American, I would never fight against my country.
Why aren't you in iraq fighting if you're "pro-war"?
