The book takes place in a small town in Iowa. The girl is the daughter of a cop and was abused as a child. It is based on a true story though I am not sure that it says that. There is more than 1 book by this author. It is a female author. She has lived in numerous places including Albany, Wisconsin.

With this in mind, I chose a pen name when I started writing fiction, since my real name was complicated and hard to spell. In fact, being a lover of history, I decided to use the first name of my paternal grandmother.
