I really don't believe that cancelling or postponing your scheduled interview will be very upholding with the interviewer/potential employer. While it is still the weekend, you should either try your best to get your window fixed, find someone who will either let you borrow his/her vehicle or take you to the interview, or just drive your vehicle to the interview.
At this point, you are in need of a job...GO TO THE INTERVIEW. It is not promised that you will be able to get another interview with this company. Once you get into the interview, don't even bring up your vehicle unless they ask you to discuss a time where you had to make a difficult decision.

First, I would attempt to find another means of transportation if at all possible (take a bus, or barrow a friends car). It that's not an option, I would call (if the interview is not first thing in the morning) and check with the place you are interviewing, and tell them that the window on your vehicle decided to malfunction, and that you are concerned with parking it with the window down/plastic taped over it. Ask if the parking lot is visible from the building, or if they have a parking garauge (something to that affect), to see if the car would be safe if it's left unattended for the length of the interview.
Good luck!

Call around to find out if there is anything open tomorrow and then if your jeep is still in the shop, take a cab to your job interview. I think if you postpone or cancel your job interview due to car trouble, it will look like you're not that serious about this job if you can't find alternative transportation.

yes it's a strike
keep in mind ( especially in a down economy ) that HR can pick and choose rather easily, and therefore they do not like flaky people , and yours would just be an indicator of things to come, and therefore a clear signal that you do not have your life in order, at out company we fire and do not hire such people ( that is people come to the interview and seem ok, but then soon the problems crop up )
no matter what you show up to the job interview, broken window or not
in fact this weekend you should figure out how to get the window working or have it all the way up ( and yes that means opening the door panels )

Leave your jeep at home. Find another way of getting there such as a bus or asking a friend to give you a lift. don't postpone, makes it seems like that you don't think that the job is that important to you. Good luck on your interview!

Take the door panel off and manually move the window to the closed position. Use a notched wooden stick (a piece of broom handle works well) cut to length to hold the window up. If needed, use duct tape to make sure the stick stays in place. You can leave the panel off till you actually get the window fixed. If you had ever owned a Toyota Camry you would already know how to do this.

Cancelling wouldn't go in your favor. Try and get to the interview if you can, maybe by getting public transport or a cab if you don't want to risk potential damage to your car.
I'd suggest that it might be fine to leave your car but my faith in human nature pretty much disappeared when mine got broken into when I was parked outside my mom's a few weeks ago lol...but still, your car might be fine. Try and find out if there's secure parking in the area where the interview is.

Take a cab the bus or have a friend drive you. If you miss this interview it's going to say to your potential employer that you really are not serious about wanting this job. Besides, once you get there you will have a funny story to tell them and it just may impress them about how you did whatever it took to make you appointment.

If the job is that important to you, do not cancel. What you need to do is find a car to borrow, hitch a ride, mass trans ... whatever. If you can't make the investment in possibly the best role for your future... don't expect others to either.
I want you to make that interview... you'll have a good story to tell the grandchildren.
Go Get 'Um!

Go to the interview. Canceling shows HR just how much you want that job. Major Major strike against you..Do not be that stupid......Take the bus, hitch a ride, ride your bike,,,,walk....just get there!!!! Interviews are not that easy to get these days. AND HR doesn't really care about your personal problems. They just want you for the work you can do.....
