HUGE MISTAKE!
How do I know? I made that mistake years ago and still regret it 'til this day. The person and the romance left almost before the scabs fell away.
The practice is also much like branding cattle. Brands identify the owner, not the wearer. I'm sure you are not a cow!

So the classic boyfriends name on your body eh. Well just a few questions to think about:
1.Will you be with him forever?(truley)
2.How long have you been with him?
3.If your together and then break up, how do you explain the name to the next guy(awkward)?
Anyway that's the just of it, Do you really think it's a smart move, if so, then go for it, but seriously think about it first, it's a big desision, it's for life unless you get it removed(ie:painful and Big $$). This is a choice only you can make, it sounds cute to have, but is it in your best interest to have it done?
Hope this helps, good luck wit your decision...

Only if you plan to have all the rest of your boyfriends having the same name. You may think you and he will last forever, but what if you don't? What if he dies or something? Why can't people just wear a friendship ring? Why carve someone's name onto your body? How about this - you and he get MATCHING tattoos - no names, just something cool you both agree on. Then if you split, you'll just have a nice tattoo. Also, it'll be a great test of his love if he gets a tattoo for you.

It doesn't matter what we think, but do some research and learn that most romantic relationships lose their appeal 1-2 years into it. Romance is gone and the real work begins. If this relationship ends, do you want a permanent reminder of it on your body for you and everyone else to see?

Never, Never a name, my son and son-in-law have both
had to re-tatoo over. (don't care for tatoos myself) but just
a word to the wise, things can always change and you're
stuck with it.

Could be a big problem if you break up with him. If you got a new boyfriend, he would not be too pleased at having another man's name on your back. Why not get a henna tattoo? They fade after a time.
