HUSLTE!!! Sprint everywhere you go this is what coaches look for. ALos you need to be coachable...listen to what they say and then try to do it. You need to have good bat speed and a strong arm. Its good if you can play multiple posistions outfield, infield...this increases your chances of making the team because you will be more versatile. Know how to bunt. Swing at good pitches. At bp focus on hitting hard line drives and ground balls. Have a short swing not long and loopy. Call fly balls loud and clear. Be aggressive...want the ball hit to you dont shy away from it. Most importantly have a good attitude, if u make a mistake so what get over it and make the next play. GOod luck.

well, if ur smaller than them, u need to be a good feilder. At my high school the JV and varsity practiced together, and the way i stood out when i was younger was to compete at their level defensively, even though i didnt hav the power they had on offense. My JV team my freshman year had freshman sophomores and juniors, i beat out a Junior for the starting 1st base job cause of my feilding, not to mention i was the only freshman to start every game. In total i sat out maybe 5 innings all season. Anyway, if u can hang in on D, then ul get the opportunity to improve on O.

last year, i was a freshman and made Varsity and was faced with the same problem. The way I showed that I belonged was I spoke up, asked a lot of questions (which makes you seem intelligent and curious.), walked around tall (don't slouch - it makes you stick out like a sore thumb.) and just play the game like you usually do. Don't try too hard but don't try too little. If you play the way you usually play, you'll do just fine.

you gotta do two things: run a good 60 time and have a strong arm; unless your schools like mine, then your parents have to kiss the coaches ***
