My obgyn said that it was fine to do as long as you are in a well ventilated area, such as the kitchen with open window or such. A lot of doctors will say no just so that they cannot be liable if something were to happen to you in your pregnancy. Now it is important to remember that everything you in jest and breathe and become exposed to your baby is exposed to as well. Pregnancy is a funny thing. You see women smoking crack and drinking and some of their babies have major problems but some are okay. You have the woman who doesn't even take an aspirin and her baby is born with downs' or other health problems. If you feel even a little worried about it then wait and get a massive beauty and spa make-over post baby. If you feel okay with dying your hair then relax and go for it. Either way feel good about yourself and love your body.

The chemicals in teh dye could be harmful to your baby--I think I read somewhere that 3% of people are genetically developed in ways that would make it harmful if they used too many chemicals--because the barrier between the mother adn the placental sac was too thin or something--with most people--your body will not let toxins get through--still--you are always taking a chance--With my first son I was very careful--but then this was stressful as I didn't do my hair and nails the way I normaly did--and I felt blah since I wasn't sticking to my normal beauty routine --This time around I am easing up a little-I'm not going to swim in chemicals, etc--but I might dye my hair, etc once in awhile--taking precautions to maybe use a mask so that I don't breathe in any extra fumes--( Looking good adn feeling good is important too--especially as the months go by--your mood affects your baby tremendously) you could also use semi-permanent dyes--to decrease the chemicals used..Good Luck:)

Yes, the dye does not penetrate the scalp. However, the fumes can get to you, so make sure you are in a well-ventilated place-- maybe wait until a nice day when you can have a window open. And also if you're doing it yourself, wear the little gloves.

Doctors are on the fence about this one. Some say its bad, others say there's no proof. My advice would be to just wait till your childs born. Better safe then sorry.

No definitely not and you shouldn't use fake tan either. Just rely upon your natural beauty! There are vegetable dyes - not lasting but good for a quick fix.
