Gaining weight would be the least of my worries if I was smoking. You should stop smoking no matter what. I think gaining a few extra pounds is a lot better than dying from lung cancer. If you're worried about gaining weight get a GYM membership. Focus on exercising and it might help with the cravings. Good luck and I hope you decide to STOP SMOKING no matter what! I know it wont be easy but I'm sure you can do it.

hmmm got a gun?
ok im kidding, if there was a way someone would have told you by now. No such thing. Kinda like asking "how can stop eating without being hungry"
Sorry ...some people find help with using the patch , and hypnosis.
This is my best suggestion. When you quit start an exersize program at the same time. Will help with the weight, will keep your mind off smoking at least for a little of the time and will help you get through the tough part faster....Lets

When you stop smoking it is usually always a stressful process, no matter what you can do. But there's ways to reduce your stress.
Some people try to keep busy, and I've known others that like to carry a pen or pencil in the hand they usually smoke with. As silly as that sounds.
Personally, I say you ween yourself off smoking. Because cutting off cold turkey will not work, unless you are fully comitted to quiting.
As far as the gaining weight thing, maybe when you get anxious for a cigarette you could reach for grapes or something you can just munch on that is actually good for you.
Good luck!
And don't beat yourself up if you relaspe one day. Just keep trying.

You'll do more harm to yourself by continuing to smoke. Getting off the best way is obviously the way you want to go. But gaining weight and getting stress is better than the health problems you are going to face later in life. Not only is smoking going to get more and more expensive but there is no escaping the reality that you're life is going to end before it should because of your choice to smoke.
Whatever method you utilize to stop be sure and do it. How to quit? Dunno. I'm 16 yrs old and have never smoked in my life, but my grandma and other people I know have had serious health problems that have ultimately lead to their demise. So even if it's cold chicken, you wanna stop.

Brush your teeth as often as you can, gum is gross if you ask me. Drink lots of water, go for lots of walks. Try to spend as little time at home as possible since its easier to smoke at home than out in non smoking territory such as restaurants and theaters.
If you have the cash spend some time at the theater, popcorn is low fat depending on the butter you use.
Nothing has really worked for me yet, but those are some of the things that did help. Especially the popcorn if I didn't eat too much of it in one sitting.
Warm soup or ice cream is nice too since it is calming and helps you sleep.
