1)The opening under a bridge is in the shape of a semi-elliptical arch and has a span of 52 feet. The height of the arch, at a distance of 10 feet from the center, is 13 feet, Find the height of the arch at its center.
2)A comet has an elliptical orbit with the sun at one focus. The eccentricity of the orbit is approximately 0.92. The length of the major axis of the orbit is about 41.25 units. Find the standard form of the equation of the orbit.
3)The focus of a hyperbolic mirror has coordinates (26,). Find the vertex of the mirror if (26,24) is one of the points on the mirror and the other focus has the coordinates (-26,0).
4)You and a friend live 4 miles apart and are talking on the phone. You hear a crack of thunder and 13 seconds later your friend hears the crack. Find an equation that gives the possible places where the lightning could have occurred.(hyperbola). (Use miles as the unit of distance. The speed of sound is about 1100 ft/sec.)

It's mathematicS, not mathematic that you study.
