I recommend Runescape. You don't have to download it, don't need an e-mail, and you get to pick a unique user name. There is a very good chat filter that stars bad words. There is some violence in the game but no gore or blood, there is just simply a splatter mark on the person or monster to show how much damage was taken. There are a lot of skills that you can train. There are lots of ways to make money. There are lots of items that you can buy and sell. There are quests that she can do that rewards her with coins, items, and skills xp. There is also a membership for $5 a month after she gets bored with the free worlds. The membership upgrade is just more features, more land that you can explore, and more items plus quests. There is a special place called the wilderness (wild for short) that she can try to attack and kill people for the items that they have with them. You can play for free online at runescape.com. There are a lot more things to talk about. I think she should try out the free worlds first and then after she has some money and knows the land pretty well (runescape is a very big world to explore) if she wants, you can upgrade her to membership. But you don't have to buy the membership for her, I've been playing on the free worlds for a couple of years now and still have not gotten bored yet! There are a lot of updates every month so there are lots of new things every month to try out. When she first starts out, there is a tutorial island for her that introduces her to the massive world of runescape. The island teaches her the basic skills that she will need for the main world. Runescape is a MMORG (massive multi-player online role-playing game). The graphics are okay but it is in 3D. She actually gets to see herself and other people. She controls exactly where she wants to go and do.

Well, Yahoo! Games is always an option! Some of the games are violent and are inappropriate (I stay well away from those), but others are harmless and enjoyable! Diner Dash and Cake Mania are two examples of a fun activity. It engages the player in restaurant format, and allows him/her to participate in a days work of business. Have fun!

Barbie.com LittlestPetShop.com PollyPocket.com CartoonNetwork.com GaiaOnline.com eBay.com (just kidding about the ebay thing) Why don't you buy her a program to play with? I highly reccomend Catz or Dogz, create your own virtual pet and take care. Maybe even Horsez or something.

Club Penguin! It's designed so that anyone who cheats, blocks secret items, says rude or vulgar things, etc. is reported to moderators. (Most penguins help by reporting the offender, which anyone can do.) It's perfect for young kids, because the game designers ensure that the players are exposed to no kind of dangerous subjects or taboo.

In Club Penguin, one takes on the identity of a virtual Penguin. If you become a member (which costs real money, so be aware of this fact), you can dress up your penguin, upgrade one's igloo home, open the home to the penguin general public, and purchase furniture items for the igloo.

To purchase those, one must earn virtual coins by playing the Minigames like Cart Surfer, Jet Pack, etc. (Personally, I think that Cart Surfer, Jet Pack, and Pizzatron 3000 are the best ones to play and master to earn max coins, so tell your daughter of this if she's struggling to earn coins).

If she only signs up without becoming a member, she can still buy certain items, like backgrounds and colors, but everything else except for free items are not obtainable. Additionally, less room will be available on servers, and less servers will be available.

A great feature of Club Penguin is the abillity to chat and make new pals. This is one of the main points of Club Penguin.

The game is available at clubpenguin.com or miniclip.com/games/club-penguin/en. I recommend that she uses the ClubPenguin.com website, because some Miniclip games sport games not suitable for children her age.

If she is dissatisfied, you can also try those "doll" games available online (PollyPocket, Barbie, etc.), but other choices are limited because of inappropriate words and material. Additionally, if she's 10 already, chances are that she'll quickly become dissatisfied with those games.

Multiplayer games like Runescape and Robot Rage or RPGs that many gamers enjoy to play often are not recommended, especially the multiplayer ones, because your daughter may be exposed to some bad things-usually, swear words and name-calling or taunting. Check the actual game content yourself to determine whether it is safe, for the ultimate decision is made by you!
