On American Idol does someone tell the losing finalists beforehand before they are told on camera?

If I were a finalist and told I had failed to advance in the competition, I would break down in sadness. How do the contestants keep their composure when they are told they won't be advancing? Are they told beforehand so they don't put on a huge scene on national television? No one wants to see a sore loser or someone who pouts. Or are they brave enough to handle the rejection? I know some are successful in music biz even if they don't win, yet if they do win, they stand a better chance of selling millions of records.

I think they get advance warning. If not, then they still are a bunch of real classy people to keep on singing, and then in private breakdown.

I don't think they get advance warning. On last week's show one of the girls that got booted off couldn't even sing the song all the way through cause she was crying practially the whole time!

i think some of them no in advance.Sundance knew in advance because he had a death in his family this past wednesday.His uncle died in a fire here in Houston ,Tx ..So that is why he lefted early ..An it wouldn't be fair for idol to hold his spot if he lefted and came back .But I hope gay Sanjaya gets the boot next week he can't sing at all.

they tell them at the same time we find out, right then and there on the show. only one person can win, so they already no that the road can end at any min.

Probably! If they didn't, the finalists would be crying their eyes out on camera.

I really think so. I think they know who's the winner, the CD is already made and ready to go. The show is BS!
