Somethimes periods come late. It could be due to stress, hormones, eating or excercise habits. I would not worry too much they say that periods can some where around the 28 days. You are still really young. Your cycle may not be set quite yet. Don't worry too much..that could postpone a period also. :)

In the early days of puberty it can take a while for periods to settle down. Keep a diary and note the days you get a period. In the early years it is acceptable to miss maybe one month when you have just started. If it happens again, go see your doctor or nurse and mention it to them. I am sure they will be able to put your mind at rest. They will probably weigh you because if you are underweight then your periods can stop.
If they offer to put you on the pill to settle your periods, speak to another adult about it. Its not always good to pump your body with chemicals. Ask for a second opinion. A good doctor will look at many other things before trying to put you on the pill.
If you are lacking in iron, this can affect your periods too.
A doctor will have all the answers but basically I wouldn't be concerned at your age, but it would be mature and sensible to check it out. Never ignore signals, its your body's way of trying to tell you thats something isn't as it should be.
I think for now its just saying, I need more practise at turning from a girl into a young lady.
By the way, a cereal bar is not enough for lunch. If you eat too little, your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto every thing you eat. Its best to eat lunch so your body can relax in the knowledge that food is on its way at regular times of the day.

Honey at 14 it is perfectly normal for your periods to be a bit erratic. It certainly does not have anything to do with the cereal bar that you are having for lunch. It is true that limiting your caloric intake to a starvation level can interupt your menstrual cycle but something as minor as having a cereal bar for lunch would not cause a problem.
Don't worry about it. Your periods will eventually become regular. You are still quite young yet to be worrying about this. So long as you are not having sex you don't have anything more serious to worry about.

If you are absolutely sure you are not pg, then it is probably not much to worry about Especially if you have not had your period for long, then it could just be you are still settling into a rhythm.
Don't think the lunch thing will have made a difference, unless you lost loads of weight and are now under about 6st. Have you been under stress or pressure, that can sometimes affect your cycle.
You should probably go and see your doctor or nurse, just to get it checked out if it doesnt arrive soon.
Hope it turns out okay.

Just a cereal bar for lunch? Not a good idea! Your period is probably late because it's been under stress with having to adapt to your "new" eating. Basically you are starving your body of nutrients so go back to your normal lunch. You might miss your period this month due to not eating properly. it will probably return when you start eating properly again.

periods can be late for lots of different reasons. especially at your age. if you are sure that you are not pregnant then i would give it another couple of weeks..... if you still have not had a period a simple blood test with your nurse will usually tell you what the problem is....
if you have been ill recently or are a little bit run down or are you worrying about anything? this may explain it.
at your age though skipping lunch in favour of a cereal bar is not good for you.... talk in confidence to your school nurse, she is there to help and has probably come across this problem a hundred times before.
you take it easy hun ok... and try not to worry periods are anoying things.... usually with a mnd of their own....

Try eating a proper lunch again, it is not healthy to just eat a cereal bar for lunch.
Changes in diet can interfere with periods, and not eating enough can stop you from ovulating, therefore being unable to have periods and children.
Eat properly.

firstly a growing teenager should eat three meals a day and eating a cereal bar is not good for you, its not entirely possible that this is the problem because young girls periods are all over the place. i would start to eat correctly again and if you still have not come on by next week go to the doctors and remember EAT

hunni, i cant believe you are soo worried about this, only about 10% of women have regular periods, you sound like you havent had yours for very long so they wil take a while to settle in. not eating is terrible for your health, and if you are anorexic then yes, it can cause cessation of your periods, i suggest you start eating properly or you will be posting these questions every month. plz dont worry, be thankful you havent got them at the mo, while the sun is out!!lol hope this helps, plz dont take what i have said offensively, good luck xx
