Why are the vast majority of humans being kept in the dark regarding the presence of extraterrestrials? Why aren't skeptical humans provided with some unquestionable item of proof of extraterrestrial existence? The proof provided always seems to be contestable. (Remember, we are assuming they exist.)

I will answer it.. I am an alien.. You would get scared and run away too if you saw humans.. Do you what these humans have been upto these days.. using up earth resources like there is no tomorrow, killing each other, selfishness, polluting air/water, killing other animals and birds to extinction, lies, thieving.. and if you happen to live in South London, even god can't help you...

assuming extraterrestrials exist, its a bit hard for them to reveal themselfs, since they are either dozends of lightyears away, or they are just some bacteria on some rock somewhere.
there's no unquestionable proof of existance, for the ultimate reason that they just not have been found, yet.
i would have no problem in assuming they exist, since the universe is a hughe place where some other species might have made it as far as we made it.
But chances that we ever get into contact, are almost ZERO, cause of the giant distances.
assuming they came here .. lol
anyone who has a realistic view on things would say impossible for above reasons.

There is a bigger assumption than "do extraterrestrial exist?", and that's assuming that if they do they must be here, being secretive.
That is asinine, it's so stupid.
Do you have any idea how big space is, in three spatial dimensions and an equally vast gulf of time?
I am completely certain that alien intelligences exist somewhere, and I am also certain they are so far away that we'll never have two-way communication, let alone direct contact.

since where assuming aliens exist id say that any alien on earth has died and scientists doing tests on them keep them in locked rooms. If the pubic new aliens existed there would be a mixture of feelings anger etc and history would change and the bible would be proved a pack of lies leaving a lot of upset christians etc

The question is ambiguous. It has two aspects. First: If you believe that government is hiding info on this subject, they have some possible reasons to hide. UFOs are created by defense department to do spying. UFO scare was created by govt for keeping enemy countries confused. By revealing the data without clinching evidence to the public would scare general public.
Second: If they were there and if they were to visit earth, their main problem would be communication with us. Frequency of our speech may not be same as theirs. Their voice frequency may not be audible to us. Language would certainly be different. To get in touch with us they need to understand these factors and find devices to translate their voice frequency and language to ours. Then, there is always a possibility of our seizing them and their vehicles. We may not treat them as ambassadors. We might suspect them to be on spy mission. There is no way for them to know if we welcome them and not hostile to them. If I am not wrong we do not know if they are to be well received. Apart from this there is a major problem of they unwittingly bringing or carrying back unknown viruses.

Aliens have not come here. Al Gore had promised that if elected he would open up all of our files on aliens. Of course he already knew the answer, there are none.
