Well, all millipedes can secrete a substance that SOME people are allergic to. It's not that serious and is more of an irritant than anythingm but as this link suggests, don't put your hands around your eyes or mouth after handling them, in case you're one of the ones with the sensitivity!

Yes some species of centipedes are posionous. They are carnivorous and they use their poisonous head-claws to seize and paralyse their prey. Some of the larger centipedes have an unpleasant bite and the poison of some larger centipedes can be dangerous to humans, especially children. Some of the larger centipedes (The Brown Centipede) can bite adults but usually only do so if they are squeezed. The bite of the brown centipede has little or no affect on us. Millipedes are not posionous at all, but they have a repugnatorial gland that produces acid that can give you an allergic reaction if you are sensitive. Another thing about millipedes is that when they are handled they give off a lingering odor that can get on your hands and the fluid can be dangerous to your eyes. Well I hoped this helped you.

Millipedes are not poisonous, but many species have repugnatorial glands capable of producing irritating fluids which may produce allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to insects or insect toxins. A few millipede species are capable of squirting these fluids over a distance of several inches. Persons handling millipedes will notice a lingering odor on their hands and the fluid can be dangerous to the eyes. It is not advisable to handle millipedes, but when one has been held, hands should be washed with soap and water until the odor is completely gone

Are you speaking of the African Giant Millipede, or all millipedes? Millipedes are not venomous. The African Millipede makes a wonderful pet. All millipedes are recyclers. They eat decaying matter. The African variety shouldn't be fed spinach or kale but just about any other fruit or veg. Millipedes are also arthropods-like crabs and spiders. This is one of the easiest, cheapest, long-lived (at least 9 years) pets a person can have.
