It all depends on my location, the time of day and knowing my resources in case if I needed assistance for anything.
Its not wise to blow my temper and beat his #ss.
First of all, I don't know what kind of person he is.
Since I used to be a police officer, I watch and look for whatever the person has in his hands or pocket.
It depends on the situation because i don't know how I will react especially if I am with my wife and kids.

First I would try to forget it an walk away, if they keep going then I would try to talk it out if that doesn't work then beat them up ...

It really would depend on the situation. With so much craziness going on in this world - it would just depend on how that person approached me, what they were trying to do to me and if they were in the process of harming me - as in hitting, kicking, etc. Depending on them - I could handle it any of the 5 ways you mentioned.
