why does it ever occur to me that avatar:the last airbender is sort of like naruto? come on people, i need good reasons why or why not.

Avatar and Naruto are very similar:
Naruto elements: wind, water, fire, earth, lightning
Avatar elements: air, water, fire/lightning (if you are good enough), earth
Sasuke was torn between good or evil- he picked evil.
Zuko had the same dillemna, made the same choice.
Both use predominantly fire.
Naruto and Aang both use wind (or air) - Rasengan looks kind of like the air scooter.
The leading female for both is a healer and is very compassionate, but will kick your @$$ if you get in her way.
And, finally, they are both awesome. That is undeniable.
Long live Shikamaru and Sokka! :)
p.s. - As far as Naruto vs. Aang: Naruto can make a few hand seals and summon a giant toad out of nowhere. 'Nuff said.

Well Naruto's main element is Wind. Aang's in Air, so that's a similarity. Another difference is that everybody needs the Avatar to defeat the bad guys. In Naruto, there's no everybody uses their own strength.

The only thing that's similar is the Nations in Avatar and the Shinobi Villages in Naruto. Besides that, there's no comparison besides Naruto > Avatar.

Naruto deals with ninja's and never fitting in. I've seen 3 episodes of Avatar and its nothing like Naruto.

I think that avatar and naruto are not similar.... I also have a very good question....
If Aang already mastered all the elements and is in avatar stage ( the glowing of the eyes and the arrows) and naruto is already a hokage and he already masters all the techniques, who do you think would win?
