I do honestly believe that there are sincere politicians that want to make a difference and say all the right things to get elected---but once they get into office, they are confronted by the corrupt majority and are ostracized if they choose not to play the game---or worse! Why are J.F.K's records sealed for 75 years and who authorized that?! Poly is Latin for "many" and tics are "blood-sucking creatures".

Politicians are not in the business of being truly sincere just giving an appearance of sincerity. Politics is the art of the possible and if it is not possible they do not swim against the flow. The nearest thing you will ever see to a sincere politician is when he is campaigning for and voting on his own pay rises.

There are a few around. Unfortunately they are few and far between though. Robin Harper of the Scottish Greens is certainly a sincere and honest politician. Another is Ian Paisley - I strongly disagree with many of his views, but I don't think anybody can doubt his sincerity or commitment to his cause. Tony Benn is another - agree with him or not, you can't deny his sincerity. Unfortunately most others I can think of are no longer with us.
I think Gordon Brown might be and when he becomes PM he will get the chance to prove it. Unfortunatley, I have a feeling that he won't.
Then there's Jeffrey Archer of course - don't worry, only joking ;-)

There's a man who taxes your wallet
There's a man who taxes your beer
There's a man who taxes your woman
There's a man who just taxes you
He's a government official
That's what his papers say
He's a government official
And he taxes you every day
There's a man who taxes your cigarettes
There's a man who taxes your car
There's a man who takes the piss out of you
he's the biggest thief by far
He's a government official
Knocking on your door
He's a government official
Coming back for more
He's organised
Organised crime
Organised crime
He's organised
Organised crime
Organised crime
There's a man who taxes your petrol
There's a man who taxes your food
There's a man who takes your place in the queue
There's a man who just taxes you
He's a government official
Checking up on you
He's a government official
There's nothing you can do
He's organised
Organised crime
Organised crime
He's organised
Organised crime

there probably are, but its like holly wood, the good ones always seem to slip under the radar because the world is more interested in the slime than the substance.
Is Paris Hilton a celeb? why? has she done anything noteworthy? and yet she and people like Britney spears, Anna Nicole smith and on and on and on...
the great ones don't get noticed till they do something great and then disappear back in to the shadow of the ones who make asses of them self's.

There is but I find they are rare. They are usually the exception to the rule. But personally I find Howard Dean is honest and sincere....at least compared to the current administration and most other politicians.

somewhat, i think that maximum politicians pass into politics with good intentions. i think that as quickly as they first enter politics they're undemanding and somewhat are undemanding. as quickly as they're elected i think they substitute into corrupted to the device interior some short years. some stunning away, others 2 - 10 years down the line. that's surprising that during community politics you will possibly be able to provide a toddler-kisser a $4,000 examine for his or her campaign and immediately you're their superb buddy and could additionally write a regulation for you or your organization to help you out.
