There are all sorts of wives tales regarding pregnancy and how to induce labor. I know a hot epsom salt bath is just the ticket for some tired muscles, and fatigue, but I never heard it was used to induce labor.

Probably the most likely idea is to talk to your baby, and ask him/her if she/he is ready to come out. Dream with the baby about coming out, you can also try meditation. Just dont try anything like using a small instrument to breach the placenta and releasing the water. You could get an infection, or worse yet, cause some damage to yourself or the baby,

When the water breaks, that is it, you are having the baby. So friday when you go in the doctor will give you a drug, and you will start having the baby, and they may breach the placenta as well to move things along.

Another thing is, tell your doctor, I AM TIRED OF CARRYING THIS LOAD, can you induce me TODAY???

My 10 Cents.

Epsom Salt Bath Hemorrhoids

My grandmother said the old wives tale about epsom salt is because epsom salt soaks can relax your muscles. And if you are more relaxed later can start on its own. But with that said I wouldnt do it. Walking is a very good natural induction technique along with nipple stimulation. Good luck and if you are induced wait for the epidural as long as you can so that way you can walk around and get labor moving. Thats what I did.

No, haven't heard the epsom salts for anything but relieving soreness. I have heard dry mustard --like in a box and powder form--in a hot bath and it will make u sweat like crazy and get things going in there. U probably will deliver before the doc has to induce cause ur already a week late, right? Good luck and Peace

The Epsom salt bath thing is purely a myth, or "old wives tale". People will tell you all kind of things that will induce labor. My doctors told me not to walk while I was pregnant because I am pront to into labor prematurely. So - the only home remedy I know that really works is walking.

Good luck to you. I hope you have a healthy baby.

PS - My name is Samantha too! LOL

Soaking in anything this late in pregnancy can cause an infection. One of the most commonly used is nipple stimulation, which leads to the release of a hormone called oxytocin. The synthetic version of oxytocin is commonly used to chemically induce labor. A bumpy car ride works for some. Exercise, such as walking, using a swing, belly dancing, using a hoola hoop, and squatting for a short while, helps your baby to descend better and your cervix to dilate. This in turn increases your own natural oxytocin release, which brings on labor. I've also heard of eating pinnapples.
Good Luck!!

Firstly you need to refuse the induction, it is risky and very likely to fail. The chances of your baby being ready at 38 weeks are slim. The first thing you need to know before concenting to a Bishop's Score, which is a fair indication of the chance of success:

Secondly epsom salt baths are used to treat eclampsia I can't see how they would start labour, although they may cause dehydration which can cause contractions. However dehydration caused contractions are usually non-productive

The only way to tighten the muscles of the vagina is to do keagal exercises. You could, theoretically get it surgically done, but why do that? Epsom Salts will not help you with your vagina.

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/9e3NM
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
