I am meeting my boyfriend's grandmother, who is from Venezuela and I want to at least learn something from the culture. I have read up on it on the internet, but those are just facts. Anything interesting to tell?

1. Try to slip some Venezuelanisms into the conversation, such as....
a) chévere = fine (in response to how are you?), or better still chevere cambur (that is real Venezuelan and she'll laugh)
b) muérgano = rascal, scalliwag
c) naguara = oh dear! (on hearing bad news)
d) cónchale = my goodness! (expression of surprise)

2. If you can find a website with venezolanismos, and learn some, then she'll appreciate the effort.
