Hi i am 21 yrs old and am in a long term relationship with my bf 23 yrs old whom i love .Recently talks of marriage/engagement have been brought up between us.My issue is that when i was 18 yrs old i made the bad decision to run away to marry my then 22 yr old bf that i had only met and dated for 4 months beforehand. We lived together for 2 months of hell before i went back home to my parents and college.I never told my parents or anyone else hat really happened. It is a sore and humiliating topic for me.My question is do i need to file for divorce?is an anullment still possible?

Of course you need to file for something - divorce or annulment, does it really matter? Do you even know where the guy you married is? Here's the only answer you need: a lawyer. Now. Do not delay. You are in more danger of being a bigamist if you think you can persist in pretending this never happened. Just do it: move forward with the proceedings that you must go through. There is no choice in this matter.

Hi, first of all (Yes you need a lawyer.) Next your not a child any more so keeping it a secret isn't giving you peace of mind, you need someone or somebody to talk to. Come clean and erase your guilt. You may want to check the Telephone book in the Yellow Pages under "DIVORCE LAWYERS FOR A STARTER." All the Best

An annulment is still possible, but you have to file form the state originated the marriage.

the only person who needs to know would be your fiance', explain it to him and go see an attorney for a divorce that you will need to get before you can marry again. file now because i think there is a waiting period for you if the ex is not to be found

Talk to a lawyer about your options, and do it soon. You need to close that chapter of your of your life before you start another one.

yes you have to resolve any past issues legally,--the last thing you need right now is another marraige at what? 21? marraige is a sacred Holy institution, it is entirely about commitment.

GET A LAWYER AND THEY'LL TELL YOU WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. A DIVORCE OR ANNULLMENT. GET THAT DONE BEFORE YOU START PLANNING ON A NEW MARRIAGE.
