I admit that the members of my favorite band are good looking, and my friends and I talk about their looks, but isn't the music more important?

Like all I hear is: "I love Fall Out Boy!! Pete Wentz is sooo hawttt!!!" or "I love Chris Brown because he's sooooo hawtt!!!!" or whatever. But I never hear "I love {instert band/artist here} because they have such great songs!!"

Why is that?

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! thank God there are other sane people out there!

I actually like Fall Out Boy because their music is amazing to me. Not how hot pete looks. I think that this band is actually degraded because there's 12382 12 years olds screaming "PETE MARRY ME" ugh.

or Panic! at the disco. I really liked them.. at first! Then they just focused on their image.. not even trying to make new stuff! so i kind of lost respect for them...

the music is what makes the band good.
when a band can speak directly to you through rhythm and lyrics is what MAKES the band so good.

i wish people would consider that.

I believe music speaks to the heart. If the music can penetrate a certain part of your imagination, and hit home on related subjects, it helps so much to know that there is more out there. Being hot, like the singer from Bullet for my Valentine, is just a bonus for me. The singer from 3 Doors Down isn't that pretty, but his voice is very sexy.

I know how you feel. There are some bands out htere that have really cute memebers (cartel, Panic! Fall Out Boy) but that shouldn't be the reason that you like them. I like a whole lot of bands but for their music! Not there looks! I 100% agree with you.

because of stupid people.

Fall Out Boy is all about themselves anyway.

Just like Good Charrlotte.

They dont care who their fans are as long as they buy a cd... doesent matter if they listen to it!

I listen to the radio.. all of my fav bands i listened to before i saw a picture.

But i think the guys in my fav band are cute too, but i wouldnt like a band because they are cute and i cant stand people like that.

This is typical behavior for teenybopper-type music fans. It's all about looks & then the music/lyrics come a distant 2nd.

Hopefully, most outgrow this & then start taking the *music* (& other bands/artists) more seriously.

If your listening to mainstream music then the image they portray is almost always the first thing they market and the music can always be sub-par as long as they can attract fans based on image.

Actually, I'm one of the few people who doesn't care about what they look like. As long as they can sing and make good music, then I love them.

Because understanding quality in music is also a talent that not many people have, and a skill that develops with that talent and intelligence.

yes, the music is the most important, but if you go and watch anything on tv, ppl only talk about looks and then, i dunno, i guess you end up doing the same...
at least i can be proud of not having a clue about the members of the bands i like...=)

The crap they play on MTV, yes people judge them by looks, when you get into metal, noone cares about looks, the lyrics, blast beats, double bass, riffs, and vocals sometimes
