I am waiting to hear back for my universities to see if i been accepted or rejected. how long this take?

If you applied regular decision, then you should hear back from them in early April. Most colleges send out decision letters on April 1st.

Regular Decision for freshmen:

Most colleges will begin mailing notifications on April 1 (or really April 2 since April 1 is a Sunday) although a few (about 10%) may mail on March 26 through April 6.

If you're lucky, the colleges you applied to also have electronic notification of acceptance by e-mail. While the acceptance decision won't have been made any faster, you can log-in to their website or check your email on the day of instead of waiting for the mail to arrive.

It all depends on the specific college/university. Some universities have a rolling admission and will get back to you extremely quickly (UNH notified me that I was admitted within a couple weeks of applying);

some wait until some arbitrary date to tell you, regardless of when they finish deciding who's in, which is stupid in my opinion (Dartmouth sent out an email saying that they had finished deciding who to accept, and I had to wait a couple more weeks before they actually posted online that they had rejected me.);

And some will send out letters as soon as they've finished the list, which is usually within the next couple of weeks (every other college I applied to)

And, of course, if you apply early decision or with some other special application, you should've received notification by now.

Almost all colleges tell you on the same day whether you've been admitted or not. This day always sometime between March 30 to April 5. Most of the time, you can check online at the college's website. Also, if you want the specific date, that is also on every college's website.
