You cannot buy their cd anymore if you were looking for it. I have worked in a music store for the last 8 yrs and its been unavailable that whole time. Whoever owns the rights for that music wont release it on cd. Its still one that we get heaps of people wanting it though.

The Traveling Wilburys were a supergroup created by George Harrison and Jeff Lynne. Initially an informal grouping with Roy Orbison and Tom Petty, they got together at Bob Dylan's studio (Santa Monica, California) to record an additional track as a B-side for the single release of Harrison's "This is Love". The song they came up with was "Handle With Care". However, the record company immediately realized it was too good to be released as a single "filler".

They enjoyed working together so much that they decided to create an album together. Written by all its members, writing and recording was accomplished by this group over a ten-day period because Dylan was due to go on tour. Released in October 1988 (under various pseudonyms as half-brothers, supposed sons of Charles Truscott Wilbury, Sr.), the album Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 was in 1989 ranked #70 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 greatest albums of the 1980s. The death of band member Roy Orbison (on December 6, 1988) prevented further full collaborations; however, the band continued without him.

"Wilburys" was a slang term coined by Harrison and Lynne during the recording of Cloud Nine as a reference to "gremlins" in the recording equipment and process. The term was used again when the entire group was together. Harrison suggested "The Trembling Wilburys" as the group's name, but they decided to use "Traveling" instead

Yes great group, of muscos,s who got together in the 80,s
George Harrison, Bob Dylon, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and a guy ive never heard of Jeff Lyne, Handle With Care,End Of THe Line were two of the best tracks off this album
Roy Orbison also released Youv,e Got It, and Wind Surfer at this time, he died shortly this album was released of a heart attack, shame as they were great together as a group
just read someone else,s comments about Del Shannon, joining them it would have been hard as he had committed suicide long before this happened and he apparently was a very hard person to work with so don,t think it would of happened. he was a s.o. a b. i heard from a musco who worked with him p.s also most music after a certain time you are unable to buy they don,t release them again

They were called the Travelling Willberries.
Roy Orbison was one of the members, but he died shortly after their first album was recorded. Another member was George Harrison of the Beatles who is also now dead.

Check this out :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traveling_Wilburys They were a kinda side project in the 80's. Really good stuff! I vaguely remember a video where they were all on a train or back of a truck with guitars like bums travelling around. Jeff Lynne was the other musician.

The Traveling Wilburys--the above people plus Jeff Lynne.

After Orbison's death, they were going to add Del Shannon, but then he committed suicide.
