Seriously. The only difference is that steroids hurts your body. Other than that it is just another form of cheating. It is getting way too much attention! Why does it get so much more attention than a pitcher using pine tar to grip a ball better? Both are cheating; and atheletes have always cheated...

Steroid use cannot be detected by an umpire during a game. Practically all other forms of cheating carry some risk of detection, and are thus considered more "fair" because there's some risk involved.

Well these performance enhancing drugs (Steroids) are the ultimate form of cheating and is not welcome in any sport. This is a fact because the sports leagues dont want their players to be hurt,sick or in serious danger. The difference between the cheating like say using a corked bat that really is all you have to do is swing and the ball is going deep. And it is true that steroids do hurt your body but steroids is the ultimate form of cheating.

Steroids make you stronger, and are bad for your body. Many of the players that have taken steroids will not live to see 65. Its like taking heroine. Also people hate to see what they thought to be great players suffer. Taking steroids is like lying to baseball fans. Plus putting pine tar on a ball gives the ball more drop. Players back in the 70's and 80's use to put vasoline on their caps and use it on the ball, it created what is known as the vasoline ball. That kind of stuff is checked by umpires before the games. You tell me whats a bigger deal. Putting vasoline on your baseball cap or taking drugs?

There is no difference. Cheating is cheating, but steroid use sets a very bad example for youths. Baseball and the culture of winning has a huge influence on young people. MLB does not want to set a bad example.

Steroids are no more cheating then using an anti-biotic to combat an infection is. If you get a lung infection is it cheating to take antibiotics? No, because you want to get better. If you have weak muscles and is it cheating to take steroids? No, because you want to get better.
