No. Only 4 tyoes of fish pose problems to pregnant women. ACcording to the FDA you should not eat: *SHARK, KING MACKEREL, SWORDFISH, or TILEFISH. If you have eaten any of these its okay just don't eat anymore from this point on. Tuna however is just fine.

No, it's not bad in moderation. You can eat about a can of chunk light tuna (not albacore) a week and be just fine. In fact, the fact that it's low in fat, high in protein, and high in omega 3's, makes it a wonderful addition to your diet. The low amount of mercury that is in it is greatly outweighed by the health benefits!

You should only eat Chunk Light tuna. And you should only eat it in moderation. They say to eat only about 1 serving of tuna a week..about 6 oz. Look at the can and it will tell you how many oz. are in the can. The reason for this is because it contains a little bit of mercury, which is harmful for your baby.

YES!
Doctors suggest that women eat very little or NO fish at all because of the risk of mercury poisoning in the developing fetus.

There is some research now that suggests eating fish during pregnancy increases the IQ of the fetus but there hasn't been enough proof of this to outweigh the risks of mercury poisioning in the developing fetus.

If you really want to eat fish discuss it with your dr. first then make sure you know where the fish came from to reduce the risk of mercury poisioning.
