Ft. Collins is fast being recognized as a good place to raise a family. Far enough away from Denver, with a small city atmosphere... it can be a fun place.

Lots of beer here... Anheuser-Busch brewery, three microbreweries: the New Belgium Brewing Company, the Odell Brewing Company, and the Fort Collins Brewery. There are several brewpubs, including the original C.B. & Potts Restaurant and its Big Horn Brewery; CooperSmith's Pub & Brewing, Lucky Joe's Sidewalk Saloon. The Colorado Brewer's Festival is held in late June annually in Fort Collins.

(I recommend O'dells 90 shilling, and New Belgiums 1554).

During the spring/summer/early fall there can be some great hiking, biking, camping, and fishing in the area.

And, if your in for an education... CSU has some great undergrad and graduate programs.

Some minor points: Ft Collins is about an hour and a half north of Denver. Eldora is the nearest ski resort, at about 90 minutes. Then you have some of the larger resorts: Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Breckenridge at about two and a half hours.

Rest assured, they are great once you get there. I often drive up and snowboard for the day, then drive home. If you can, avoid skiing on weekends when the crowds will be out in full force... and the drive slow. Tuesday/Wednesdays are great mid-week days to head up high. Spring skiing (March, early April) can be a wonderful warm experience.

Have fun!

There is not any skiing IN Ft. Collins.

When I lived there we went to movies, concerts, out to all the bars, out to eat at all the different restaurants, walked around historic Old Town, shopped, hung out at Horsetooth Reservoir and all the different parks, biked, golfed, etc. It's not unlike many other mid-sized towns other than it's setting in the foothills so there are lots of outdoor activities.

My brother in laws went to school in that area and Boulder, I always liked visiting there.

The mountains are close if you are into outdoors, I always liked that since mountains here in Calif. aren't as majestic as the Rockies.....

Otherwise, I'm sure they have a computer cord for you at starbucks or something...... :-/
